Michigan Casino:

There are sixteen other casinos located throughout the state which owned by Indian tribes. These casinos vary in size and amenities. Michigan casino can be divided into two groups depending upon its ownership. These two groups are:

Indian Casino: Though gambling activity in Michigan was legalized on 1933 with horse racing but it took long time to legalized casino gambling. In 1993 with the approval of governor Indian tribes were allowed to run casino gambling in Michigan. Previously there were seven Indian tribes who operated casino in Michigan. In addition to the seven tribes, four more have signed treaties with Governor that permits them each to open one casino in the state. In every Indian casino you can enjoy the games like slot machine, video poker, blackjack, bingo, and all other casino style games.

Detroit Casino: Previously in Michigan casino gambling business was allowed only among Indian tribes. In 1996, state allowed up to three casinos to operate in Detroit. Atwater Circus, Greektown, MGM Grand are the three companies who got license from Michigan Gambling Control Board. All three casinos are open 24 hours. The games provide by these casino are blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, mini-baccarat, Caribbean stud poker, three-card poker, pai gow poker, let it ride, big 6 wheel and casino war.

The minimum gambling age in Michigan varies from 18 to 21. Each Native American gambling casino has its own minimum age.  Twenty-one is the general rule, although a number have 18 as the minimum age with no alcohol served to minors. The minimum gambling age for the commercial casinos is 21.

Michigan Casino Gambling Industry:

Today Michigan gambling industry is considered as another booming industry after automobile Industry. According to Western Michigan University report adults wager around $5 billion legally in Michigan and lose more than $1 billion.
