Teenager and gambling:

Gambling is very common activities among teenager. The teenagers between the ages of 12-17 years are more likely to attract towards gambling. In most of the states gambling is prohibited among teenagers but evolution of online gambling unable to restrict the teenagers for playing gambling. The online gambling is very popular among the teenagers and law regarding online gambling is not too strict. 

Teenager Gambling Addiction:

The teenagers are more likely to attract towards gambling than adults. As gambling is prohibited for the minor who is under the age of 18, therefore they are not able to gambling on casino. But there are no restrictions for online casino. No one can find out the age of person while the person playing online. Hence online gambling help teenager to gambling freely. Teenagers are very familiar with surfing on net and it really helps them to find out the gambling sites.

Reasons for Addiction:

There are several reasons for addiction gambling among teenagers. Teenagers develop gambling addiction basically for the following reasons:

• When parents use to gambling

• From friend groups

• Surfing Internet

• Watching gambling game on TV

Characteristics of Gambling Addiction:

You will find out some common characteristic among the teenager gamblers. These are basically:

• School grades drop,

• Social development decreases,

• Low self esteem,

• Self destructive behavior,

• Suicide Attempt,

• Stealing,

• Negative Attitude,

• Stopped after school activities,

• Watched poker tournaments on cable and television.

Effects of Addiction:

Gambling addiction has bad impact on teenager. It has adverse effects on teenager’s future also. It may spoil someone life. The younger a person is when they begin to gamble, the more likely they are to develop psychiatric and substance use problems. Adolescent and young gamblers were more likely than non-gambling peers to use alcohol and drugs. They also develop the habit of fraud, theft, etc

Prevention of Gambling Addiction:

Parents are responsible for prevention or control of gambling addiction of teenagers.  The only way to help teenagers to overcome from gambling or to aware of gambling effects is to educate them in the classroom and at home. Just like talking about protective sex, drugs and alcohol with children parents now should explain the effects of gambling to their children. Parents and education must help to teenagers to understand the negative impact of gambling addiction then only it is possible to overcome the teen gambling problem.
