A casino is incomplete without the game of Roulette. The roulette wheel has actually become a symbol of casino and thereby an integral part of gambling. Roulette is one of the basic gambling games that can be considered as the face of gambling. The game is a gambler’s delight as it involves great unpredictability that makes the game very exciting. Also, a great emphasis on luck and fortune makes the game tricky in nature.

As a gambling game, roulette is almost 300 years old. In the game of roulette, there is a wheel that includes 36 slots along with single ‘zero’ and double ‘zero’ slot. The slots are available in the colors of red and black alternatively. The individual or the dealer in charge of spinning the wheel is known as the croupier. The game of roulette begins when the croupier spins the wheel and throws a small ball inside the wheel. The players then have to tell a specific number to the croupier from 1 to 36. If by the time the wheel stops the ball lands in the slot of the number told by the player then the player wins and receives an amount double to the amount that he had put at stake. The winning amount varies in different casinos and in different countries. The game of roulette provides great winning benefits to the casinos irrespective of the odds. Hence, roulette is considered a favorite game of the casino owners.

Roulette Betting

Roulette includes two main types of bets, namely, the inside bet and the outside bet. Inside bets refer to the bets made on the numbers. This means that when a player selects any number from 1 to 36, it means that he is indulging in inside betting. On the other hand, when players bet on the basis of colors, it means that they are indulging in outside betting. In the payoffs a basic pattern is followed in all the countries and casinos in the world. Conventionally, a single-number payoff is 35:1 whereas double number bets are lower. They are usually placed at 17:1. These are some of the basic rules and trends involved in the game of roulette. Several players can vouch that of all the gambling games, roulette can certainly be termed as one of the most exciting and pulsating games. Players must recognize their limits before they place a bet and indulge in roulette.
