How to Play Craps

The Sands of the Caribbean® Online Casino

How to play craps:

A brief introduction to the game:

Craps is actually a casino dice game. Previously known to be as the crabs the modern version of the craps is a derivation of the old English game the hazard. The game in which the players bet their money against the casino on the outcome of a roll or a series of rolls of two dices is extremely popular in the United States. During the First World War the game used to be a great favorite and a common pass time for the allied soldiers. However they used to play it in less formal settings as compared to the present day, glamorized versions of the game being played in the vibrant casinos of Las Vegas to the posh casinos of Monte Carlo.

How to play:

Craps is a dice game that can be as complicated or as simple depending upon the choice of the players. The players bet on the numbers that may or may not be produced on the next roll of the dice. The player who rolls the dice is known as the shooter and the first roll of a new round is known as the come out roll. All of the bets are based on the sum total of the numbers pro0duced by the two dice or on a specific combination of the dices. The bets placed in the game are of wide range and variety but the most common form of the wagers that most of the players bet is the pass line wager. It is a common etiquette on the part of the player who is offered to shoot the dice to pass them to the next player so that no one is offended.

Types of bets placed in the game:

The most fundamental of all the bets placed in the game is the pass line bet in which the player bets on the number the dice will pass on the next roll. Another significant bets include the come and the don’t come bets that are quite similar to the pass bet but their results cannot be decide on the outcome of the roll. The odd bets are additional bets that can only be placed after the establishment of the points. Then there is the big 6 and the big 8, the horn bet, the crap-s twelve, the final bet, the win bet following the list. But the basic classification of the game is done on the basis of two categories; the proposition bets and the place buy & lay bets.
