Conference tackles problem gambling

The 10th annual Educational and Awareness Conference sponsored by the
Kentucky Council of Problem Gambling will be held Thursday and Friday at the
Holiday Inn North in Lexington. Arch Gleason, president of the Kentucky
Lottery Corp., and Keith Whyte, executive director of the National Council
on Problem Gambling in Washington, D.C., will be among the conference
speakers. The conference will focus on issues faced by counselors of serious
gamblers and financial and economic problems that gambling can cause. A
series of roundtable discussions will center on issues, trends and future
needs in combating problem gambling.
Attendance is open to the public; the registration fee is $90 for members of
the Kentucky Council on Problem Gambling and $115 for non-members.
