Olympic Sports Book Changes Name

Olympic Sports Data Services, Ltd., known online as Olympic Sports Book, one of the oldest and largest online sportsbooks, announced today it was changing the brand name of its online sportsbook to The Greek Sports Book.

The name change to The Greek Sports Book is a natural transition, one which will enhance marketing campaigns, distinguish its first and foremost property, and help solidify the brand recognition of a single brand name.

Market research revealed that even though many clients were aware of Olympic Sports Book as the company name, most referred to it as "The Greek," which represent both the web site address as well as the owner's nationality. "The Greek" will also tie in with other offerings under the same brand name. These include The Greek Casino, which offers an abundance of casino games, and The Greek Poker, which is an online poker room. All are accessible under the same account for customers.

Management reviewed both the name change and surveys from players and determined that more amenities would further augment the transition, which began to evolve during the 2005 football season. A new web site look was introduced, featuring easier navigation, enhanced content and a professional look. A year-round bonus program offering new players a 21% bonus and existing players 11% bonus reloads, as well as the inclusion of free contests and cash giveaway promotions, produced an overwhelmingly positive response from players.

The new logo for The Greek Sports Book was introduced to the site on March 1. Over the next few weeks, the transition will be finalized with new ads appearing on various networks, stationary changes, and web site changes all being made to reflect the brand name change.

After a nearly seamless transition to the new name, management is pleased with its decision. The Greek Sports Book has a new look, more amenities, and the tradition of "sweat the game, not the payout" continues.
