Left Pimlico and walked past the Stakes Barn on a cool, spring night. The humid conditions of earlier in the day were washed away with some late day showers. The only souls stirring outside the Stakes Barn were security people and they had plenty of horses to watch sleep all night.

Of the nine runners for Saturdays Preakness Stakes, six are here. The only ones missing are two Todd Pletcher trainees " Circular Quay and King of the Roxy. They are spending one last night at Belmont Park before coming down on Thursday. The other absentee is Xchanger, who is up at the Fair Hill training center, about an hour north from here. Trainer Mark Shuman still hasnt decided if hell ship him down here on Friday or early Saturday. Horses have to be on the grounds by 8 a.m. Preakness Day.
