TITLE: Annual Ride the Ridge Poker Run in April to benefit Special Olympics

It&#39;s spring again, and for local motorcycle enthusiasts that also means time<br>for the Ride the Ridge Poker Run. April 14 is the date for the fifth annual<br>installment of the fundraiser, which offers a good time for participants<br>while raising money for Special Olympics Arkansas. The ride will begin at<br>the East Arkansas Community College Technical Center in Wynne and travel 100<br>miles through the Crowley&#39;s Ridge Parkway before ending at the Central<br>Arkansas Turbine hangar at the Forrest City Municipal Airport.<br>Pre-registration for the event is $25 and includes participation in the<br>poker run, a T-shirt, a pin, a coozie and a ticket for the many door prizes<br>available on the day of the event. Those who register on the day of the<br>event will also pay a $25 entry fee, which includes a T-shirt on a first<br>come, first served basis, a pin and a door prize ticket. All participants<br>with a paid entry fee will also receive a free crawfish and barbecue dinner<br>following the poker run. The dinner will be served at Central Arkansas<br>Turbine. The first bike out will leave at 10 a.m., with the last bike out<br>leaving the Tech Center at noon. The last bike will be accepted at the<br>airport at 3 p.m. The event will also include a 50/50 drawing and $100 to<br>the participant with the best hand. Along with door prizes, there will also<br>be an auction, and Tom and Tim&#39;s D.J. Service will provide entertainment.<br>&quot;We just want everybody to come out and enjoy some good crawfish and good<br>barbecue and enjoy themselves while supporting a good cause,&quot; said Brenda<br>Warf with Special Olympics Arkansas Area 8. Area 8 includes St. Francis,<br>Cross, Monroe and Phillips counties, and the funds raised from the poker run<br>will benefit athletes in these counties. According to Warf, the event will<br>take place rain or shine.
