AUTHOR: Jerry "Jet" Whittaker TITLE: Upload a Video for a Chance to Win $2 Million DATE: 2:08 AM ----- BODY: Taking its cue from the success of Bodog's Battle of the Bands submission
process that saw over 7,000 competitors enter, Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker
will feature a user-generated content aspect in casting its second season.
For a chance to become one of 11 players in the 12-person cast of Calvin
Ayre Wild Card Poker II, in line to win a record-setting $2 million, reality
TV hopefuls can go to bodog.com/poker/wild-card-poker/season-02/ to upload
an audition video. All videos will be screened by Bodog.com and the 11
winners will be privately contacted. The cut-off date for video submissions
is April 28, so players should get their videos in quick to be on the path
to living the life of a millionaire! Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker, which set
ratings highs in its time slot last year, was full of action and saw poker
pro Josh Arieh walk away with the $500,000 grand prize. Though still in
development, Season II is quickly shaping up to be bigger and better. With a
shot at poker superstardom and the largest prize in reality TV history - $2
million - up for grabs, the second season of the hit series is guaranteed to
draw wide audiences. "Season II leaves behind the classic reality TV show
format in favor of a much more modern and exciting approach," said Calvin
Ayre, the show's host and founder of Bodog.com. "Bodog is one of the most
respected brands in the digital entertainment industry and is known for its
innovation and creativity and we have set out to take the industry to a
whole new level. Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker Season II will be the first and
only show of its kind to reward today's social networkers with the chance to
earn spots on the show and walk away with a cool $2 million grand prize."
For those less inclined to audition on video, poker players can join in on
one or more of the 30 qualifying poker tournaments on Bodog.com. Qualifying
tournaments run every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:05 EST and have an
entry fee of $5 + 0.50, or 300 Bodog Poker points. The top five of each
qualifying tournament will go on to battle it out in the final tournament on
April 28. The top five of the final tournament will score big, but only the
winner will get to fill one of the coveted 12 spots as a contestant on
Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker II, effectively earning a 1-in-12 shot at the $2
million grand prize and poker superstardom. --------
