<p class="mobile-post">An Online poker player is trembling with fear as she prepares to go
head-to-head with the world's finest players and celebrities next week for a
£450,000 prize - even though she has only been playing a few weeks!
Fifty-something mother-of-two Pam Brown of Swanbourne Drive, Hornchurch, had
never played "Texas Hold 'Em Poker" until hubby Alan recently convinced her
to have a go online. She told the Recorder: "We saw an advert for the
888.com UK Poker Open Championships and Alan said 'I'm going to enter' so
the husband-and-wife rivalry kicked in and I thought I'd have a go for a
laugh. "We had to compete in an online qualifier. I played until 4.30am and
came second! He was 21st! I couldn't believe it and didn't have a clue what
I'd won until Alan said you're in the UK Poker Open! I've never played a
proper game before and I've been shaking constantly."</p>
