The follow-up to Activision's poker game for computers and game consoles shipped today and will be available to consumers as soon as its boxes are delivered to stores. World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions follows last year's successful release of World Series of Poker. This year's title is packed with features and professional players that weren't in the first edition, and it looks like this is the consol poker game to own to get a taste of what it's like to be on the poker tournament trail. It's available for Xbox 360, Playstation 2, PSP and computers. The World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions game feature 32 players and characters that populate the real poker world. T.J Cloutier, Eric Seidel, Antonio Esfandiari, Clonie Gowen, Jennifer Tilly, Scott Fischman and even CardPlayer's own Jeff and Barry Shulman are some of the professional players who will be found in this game. The game features an immersive storyline that casts players as a newly turned poker pro building his career under the tutelage of Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, one of the world's foremost poker pros and winner of five WSOP bracelets.
CardPlayer magazine is also featured in the game. Card Player's own Jeff and Barry Shulman are two of the professional players who will be found in this game and players can dress their characters up in Card Player gear like shirts and hats. Poker tips from Barry Shulman's book also appear on the load screens.
And if players win the Tournament of Champions, a picture of their character will appear on the cover of a Card Player magazine.
The game is also the first North American title to feature a player immersion system called DigiMask. DigiMask, only available in the Xbox 360 version, allows players to take a picture of them using the new camera for the system and create a character that looks very much like the real-life player.
Players also can battle each other through their Internet connections in their own personalized poker rooms that feature trophies and accolades and can be decorated any way the player wants.
The game has been rated "T" by the ESRB and is available for a suggested retail price of $39.99 for Xbox 360, $29.99 for Playstation2 and PSP and $19.99 for PC.
